On his last day at the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Javier Milei met with 80 CEOs of top-tier companies, aligning with the foreign trade policies of American Donald Trump, in this case by creating a group in favor of peace. Milei sought to clarify the direction of the economic plan and highlight the key role Argentina will play as an energy and mining producer in the coming years. The head of state highlighted the fiscal balance achieved for the second consecutive year and the consensus achieved with Argentine society to advance on this path. Among the topics discussed were the debates around labor reform, aimed at reducing the cost of layoffs and lowering the corporate income tax. Milei also reaffirmed the commitment to trade with all countries, including China, Europe, and Brazil. After his speech at the Forum, he held a meeting with CEOs from banks and funds on Wall Street, Europe, and Brazil. Among the attendees were ministers Luis Caputo, Federico Sturzenegger, and Pablo Quirno, while among the executives were Jane Fraser (Citigroup), Jenny Johnson (Franklin Resources), André Esteves (BTG Pactual), Doug Sieg (Lord Abbett), Rachel Lord (BlackRock), Thasunda Brown Duckett (TIAA), and Carlos Torres Vila (BBVA), among others. Among those present were assessments of a trade surplus in 2025 for the second consecutive year.
